Shut down by the police at only 00:45 on the first night due to public safety concerns, this one is going to go down in clubbing history. It's mind boggling how this could have got so fucked up, as presumably the organisers, venue, production company, council, fire brigade and police must have approved the capacity of the venues before it was even allowed to open. Whoever is responsible, you've got to feel for everyone who is going to be hit financially by this; the punters (many of whom travelled from far and wide), the international DJs who presumably travelled but aren't getting paid, and of course the organisers of the event and of the various stages. It's a massive shame as Bloc almost reached greatness with this. Is this it for "proper" dance music festivals in the UK?
